1 ball of Gazzal Organic Baby Cotton yarn in the color “BLUE – 437” from HobiumYarns found HERE

A 6mm crochet hook (Pictured is the LA MIA WHITEWOOD 6 MM 15.5 CM WOODEN CROCHET HOOK)

Scissors

A Ruler

A tapestry needle

Abreviations:

ch = chain

st = stitch

sl st = slip stitch

dc = double crochet

Directions:

(Make 2)

Row 1: (With the White yarn) Make a slip knot, and ch 71. Then, put 1 dc into the 3rd ch from hook, and in each st across.

Row 2: Ch 2, turn. Skip the 1st st, and put 1 dc into the next st, and in each st across.

Row 3: Repeat row 2, EXCEPT when you reach the very last dc, DO NOT complete the last “pull through” – instead, use the next (blue yarn) color to pull through and complete that final stitch. Cut the white yarn and tie it to the tail of the white yarn you just attached as pictured.

Row 4: Ch 2, turn. Skip the 1st st, and *put 2 dc in the next st, then skip 1 st. Repeat from * across. Put 1 dc in the last st of the row, EXCEPT DO NOT complete the last “pull through” – instead, use the 1st (white yarn) color to pull through and complete that final stitch. Cut the blue yarn and tie it to the tail of the white yarn you just attached.

Repeat rows 1-4, for 31 rows total. (alternating colors when mentioned) Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Seaming the Tee

Step 1: Lay the 2 pieces you just crocheted (front & back) on top of each other evenly, and thread the tapestry needle with the long tail. Next, sew each side the top of the tee together 4″ (13 st) from the outside-in, leaving the neck hole open in the middle.

Then cut, weave in ends, and cut the excess yarn.

Next, using the hook to attach the yarn to the middle of the neck hole, ch 1.

Then, sl st evenly around the entire collar around. Sl st to the beginning ch 1 to connect the round. Cut yarn, and weave in ends.

Step 2: Sew up each side of the tee, 8″ up from the bottom, (17 rows) leaving the arm holes open.

Creating the Sleeves

Step 1:

Row 1: Using the hook to attach the yarn to the bottom inside edge of the 1st sleeve as pictured, ch 1.

Then, sc evenly around the entire sleeve. Sl st to the beginning ch 1 to connect.

Row 2: Ch 1, and sl st evenly around the entire sleeve. Sl st to the beginning ch 2 to connect. Cut yarn, and weave in ends.

Step 2:

Repeat rows 1-2 on the other arm hole to create a 2nd sleeve seam.

Ta da! You’re all finished! 🙂

I’m so excited to bring you all this cute little “Summer Sunset Crochet Baby Blanket” pattern!
