Hi, friends! Jerica here from YarnHookNeedles. Today I am showing you how to create two super cute and simple Christmas ornaments.
So grab your yarns, hooks, and scissors and let’s get started!
MATERIALS:
GAZZAL Baby Wool in the colors: Red, Black, White, Green & Yellow
3MM Hook
Scissors
Tapestry Needle
Stuffing
CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT:
Tree Panel (make 2)
CH 3
R1 – HDC (half double crochet) in the 3rd CH from the hook. CH 2. Turn.
R2 – Place a HDC into the same stitch as the CH 2. HDC all the way across. CH 2. Turn.
R3 – R11: repeat row 2. Tie Off.
Adding the “ornaments”:
Using your tapestry needle and a contrasting yarn, simply sew little asterisks about to give the effect of ornaments on the tree. Do all your ornaments in one color before switching to another color.
I only did this to one side of the tree but you could do both sides if you desired! For the star, I used yellow and sewed a larger asterisk at the top point.
SEWING & STUFFING THE TREE ORNAMENT:
Once you have added your ornaments you can begin whip stitching the sides. Start sewing at the base of the tree and seem up to the top of the tree then back down to the other base. Before you close up the bottom you will add your stuffing.
After you add the stuffing your will continue with your whip stitching and sew the bottom closed. Weave in your ends and you’re done!
At this point, you can add whatever type of string, yarn or twine you would like to act as the hanger for your tree ornament! I chose yellow to help show the “star” off at the top of the tree.
From here you can add your ornament to the tree or you can add it to a gift or however you feel like using it.

Tie off leaving a long tail for sewing on to the snowman.
ATTACHING THE HAT AND EYES:
Taking your long tail, place the hat however you would like on the snowman. Then, you will proceed to sew the hat on by weaving your tapestry needle in and out of the stitches around the 5th round of the hat. Once you go all the way around. Weave in your loose end.
For the eyes, you will mimic what you did with the ornaments on the Tree. I made the asterisks extra large by going over and over. This caused the eyes to be extra big!
Once you’re done, weave in your ends and you’re done.
I hope you enjoy making these little trinkets!
Merry Christmas
