Simple Fingerless Mittens – A Knitting Pattern

Hello! Alliyah here from TheYarnFox again! Hobium and I have partnered to bring you a simple, beginner friendly fingerless mitten pattern using the Kartopu Rubin Wool which is available on their website in many colors! .

Kartopu Rubin Wool is a great choice for all of your projects that use bulky (weight 6) yarn! You can find it here on Hobium’s website!

Mittens are a quintessential Fall item, and they’re fun to make, too! The mittens that we’ll be making today are fingerless, so you can use your phone without taking them off! Let’s get started!

You will need:

  1. About 50 meters of Kartopu Rubin Chunky Tweed Yarn in your favorite color(s). I used Beige – K899 and Grey – K1006
  2. 10mm circular or double point knitting needles
  3. Scissors
  4. Yarn needle

Notes:

  1. The mitten is worked in the round until you reach the thumb hole. To make the thumb hole, you will work flat, turning after each row for a couple rows. After the thumb hole is made, you’ll resume working in the round.
  2. You can make your mittens longer by working more rounds where directed.

Pattern:

Make two identical mittens

Cast on 18 stitches and join to work in the round.

Round 1:  *K1, P1* Repeat from *to* across the round (18sts)

Round 2-7: Repeat Round 1

Round 8-15: Knit across

*Note*

If you would like to make your mitten longer, repeat round 8 until you’re satisfied with the length.

this is what Round 17 should look like, when you turn and begin to purl

These next few rows will be worked flat, and you will turn at the end of each row.

Round 16: Knit 18, turn

Round 17: Purl 18, turn

Round 18: Knit 18, turn

Round 19: Purl 18, turn

Round 20: Knit 18, turn

Round 21: Purl 18, turn

Round 22: K18, and join back in the round

You will now begin working in the round again

Round 23-26: Knit across

Round 27-30: *K1, P1* Repeat from *to* across the round

Bind off loosely and weave in all your ends!

And you’re finished! Try them on and make a few more pairs for your friends, your shop, and your craft shows!

And don’t forget! You can always order more Kartopu Rubin Chunky Tweed as well as many other great yarns from Hobium Yarns!

At this point, you can either add a border or leave the blanket as-is. I did a simple SC border all the way around. If you do this, be sure to add 3 SC in the same stitch at each corner so your corners will be symmetrical.

If you are totally confused, I urge you to watch the video tutorial below!

The Simple Knit Infinity Scarf Pattern by BrennaAnnHandmade

Hi everybody! Brenna from BrennaAnnHandmade here! 😀 I’m so excited to share this “Simple Knit Infinity Scarf Pattern” with you all, as this is the perfect cozy beginner cowl to add to your collection, as the weather is slowly turning cooler! Are you ready to get started? Great! 😀

Materials:
1 Skein kartopu PREMIUM LINE MERINO YUN
1 pair 7mm Prym Straight Knitting Needles
A Crochet Hook or Large Eye Tapestry Needle (For sewing up scarf / weaving in ends)
Scissors

Directions:
Step 1: cast on 25 stitches evenly onto one of the knitting needles, using the long-tail cast on method.

Step 2: (Row 1) Knit the 1st stitch by inserting the empty needle from the front to back as pictured.

Then, wrap the working yarn counterclockwise around the needle you just inserted, and use the needle to pull the yarn back through the loop.

Ta da! You just completed your first knit stitch! 😉 Repeat the steps across the entire row, knitting every stitch you casted on originally!

Step 3: (Rows 2-239) Turn the working knitting needle, and repeat row 1.

Step 4: (Row 240) Cast off all stitches by:
1. knit the 1st two stitches of the previous row.

2. Take the 1st stitch you just knitted, and bring it over the 2nd stitch you just knitted, and off the knitting needle.

3. Knit the next stitch, and repeat the steps above that you just completed to cast off a 2nd stitch. Repeat with each stitch across until you have casted off all stitches. You should have about a 12″ tail of yarn left for sewing up the scarf.

Step 5: Using the extra long tail & tapestry needle, sew the two ends of the scarf together to make it an infinity scarf. Weave in all ends & cut yarn.

All finished! 😀
